Professional Remedial Services (PRS) have water-proofed the New basement of a property in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, The water-proofing of the basement over 4 meters below ground. The swimming pool and basement required detailed specification to ensure that any potential water ingress was controlled.

The need to apply different materials to different areas arose due to the construction and nature of the ground and building.

The work included the installation of a cavity drain membrane to the walls, Resin-based water-proofing to the duct trenches around the swimming pool, complemented with Cementitious Sika render to the internal pool lining. This has enabled a swimming pool to be sited in the new basement.

The original building has been almost re-built with the front elevation being the only retained structure. This was a requirement of the local authority planning department.

Materials were specified and installed by PRS following other successful contracts for the developer.

Close liaison with the client and architects, on the waterproofing design at the pre-construction stage and through the contract period, meant PRS were able to complete the job time and to budget.
